Decent, unbent, innocent. The 21st century opened the eyes of the millennial people and the Generation X to a world full of hope, love, mystery, anger, and scandal. A young woman’s dream turns into a sad reality when held by broken arms and a lad’s inevitabilities satisfies itself with fantasies and lies. I saw her sitting alone under a tree whispering to herself words I cannot ponder. She’s as beautiful as the calm blue sky as it turns into flaming red as the sun meets the sea. Her eyes are windows to a realm where magnificence and guiltlessness are seen. Her skin is as smooth as a bunny’s fur, ticklish and exciting. But she’s unaccompanied, and I can see through her eyes, melancholy, I can read her lips which halts everything, and I can feel her solitude through her aching skin. She’s been hurt, bent, and wounded. Boys will be turned on by her breasts and butt, her sexiness. Surely, they’ll think of seeing her naked, thinking what’s under those shirts. They’ll start to undress her and imagine. They’d bet she’d be chatting with them online. An innocent girl living in the cruel world of the digital century, hypnotized to send nudes, show what’s underneath. As I see these boys looking at her, taking off her guiltless outfit, talking about how innocent her body is, and feeling the titillating exoticness of her pureness, I feel culpable, I am saddened by how these people remove the purity of a young girl’s life. Boys… She doesn’t deserve to be taken for granted. Shamelessness will not justify why she prefers to be alone right now. She is a woman who deserves respect and affection. Boys may have posted her nudes on social media but men will find how nude her personality is. Her mistakes may never be deleted but her womanhood will never be changed. The culture of Filipinos shows how men respect women, and how women admire morals of men. Why can‘t we all be a man who will also want to see her naked... Her naked mind – what’s running through that mind, why is she alone right now? Why the sad face? The mind will show everything that has happened, her experience, her reasons for being alone. Her naked heart – the exquisiteness of her mood swings, her love for nature, satisfaction, simplicity, and innocence. Her naked heart will make me believe that what’s been broken can be fixed and what’s been lost can be found. Her naked soul – the profoundness of her faith and how she’ll remember memories that matters. Will contentment domineer tragedies? Her soul will show the conviction to what she believes in. Violence against women, human trafficking, and cyberbullying should not be encouraged but opposed. Bareness is not only seen tangibly but with what’s within.
