How can you individually connect the continents of Earth? With over 190 countries and divided by vast oceans, how can someone find and see a person miles away from him? Hundreds of thousands of kilometers of roads to take to discover something hidden, how can one not get lost? Social media has been constantly increasing its presence both with the Millennials (1980-1994) and Generation Z (1995-2015), adding up Generation X (1965-1979) and the Baby Boomers (1944-1964), it is making its name, in one way or the other, throughout the entire world. Social media are websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or participate in social networking. It is the current mode of communication used by more than 80% of the world's population. It has constantly shown its pros rather than its cons, inserting the question, is it really beneficial? The answer for that may be a big yes because these innovations have eased the way of communication between two or more people, disregarding its point of origin to its destination. But how can someone find himself in a world where you cannot identify who is true and what is fake? Twitter, an American microblogging and social networking service, has been one of the social media sites which are commonly used by teenagers and young adults where they share depressing tweets because they feel like no one actually cares even when they tweet thousands each day. Depression cases have been increasing profusely and have been one of the priority conditions covered by the World Health Organization's (WHO) mental health Gap Action Programme (mhGAP). As time goes by and as social media increases its attendance in the community, one individual may feel lost in the digital world, suffering from finding oneself and making every moment count. It is not illegal to not use social media but it is right to always check on your friends and family personally from time to time. These physical connections from people around them contribute encouragement for someone who forgot where he was and got lost along the way. As people around someone who is suffering from sadness and grief, our least supplement to their condition is to be there by their side, not digitally, but physically, who is willing to listen and share a priceless moment. #BreakTheStigmaIn 2015, the Mental Health America (MHA) celebrated their 65th year of Mental Health Month observances by launching a B4Stage4 campaign focused on improving public awareness of mental illness - from prevention to diagnosis to recovery. In 2017, WHO lead a one-year global campaign on depression which aimed at more people with depression, everywhere in the world, both seeks and get help. Depression is the leading cause of ill health and disability worldwide. According to WHO (2019), good mental health is related to mental and psychological well-being. WHO’s work to improve the mental health of individuals and society at large includes the promotion of mental well-being, the prevention of mental disorders, the protection of human rights and the care of people affected by mental disorders. Also, the Mental Health Foundation will be hosting the Mental Health Awareness Week on 18-24 May 2020. The theme in 2019 was "Body Image - How we think and feel about our bodies. #BeBodyKind." #StopDepression and let us all make it happen.
